The exercise of every freedom in a free society is restrained by what is sensible, responsible and respectful.  The people who produced the 13-minute short film ridiculing the Prophet Muhammed and the far right Christian and Coptic groups who made it a viral phenomenon abused this freedom, a reprehensible act, no doubt. 

On the other hand, the radical Islamist elements that incited, and continue to incite violence as a response to this video have chosen an equally reprehensible path and demonstrated to the world what most peace-loving and secular people of all faiths already know about any radical ethos, be it Christian, Judaism, Hinduism or Islam: freedom, especially freedom of speech is antithetical, if not abhorrent, to such a warped system of belief.

Inciting mass violence and murder in the name of faith has long been the cornerstone of every oppressive regime in perpetuating ignorance among the citizenry and allowing the so-called leaders of the people to continue to pilfer the state’s coffers.  

This time it will be different. Why? Because all peace-loving people are connected by the miracle that is this screen I am looking at and posting to.  Cooler heads will prevail because a cooler head is in the Office of the President right now, President Obama.
